The ADR (Automated Dialog Replacement) for Geocachers was recoded and edited by Michael Holcomb at Black Anvil Productions.
ADR is when bits of dialog are re-recorded during post-production. There are many reasons why this might happen. Sometimes the production audio has a problem and a line can’t be heard. Sometimes actors flub a line during production. Sometime a line is added or changed to make a plot point more obvious or remove a curse word. During post-production on Geocachers we had instances of all these issuses.
Six of the actors had to come in for ADR. Most only had a couple of things that needed to be re-recorded. Luther (played by Robin Zamora) had most by far. This was mainly due to the amount of swearing the character does in the film. Each swear word had to be re-recorded with non-swear for the TV version of the film.
In this edition of Fly on the Wall, you’ll get to sit in on a little bit of the ADR session with “Luther”.
